STEAM Man Ignites Learning at Walt Whitman Elementary
Promoting Literacy and Making Reading Fun For Our Kids
Pontiac, MI –March, 2025–Michigan-based organization Kids First Initiative (KFI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, introduces its representative in education: STEAM Man. The new ambassador for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM), this superhero will be coming to a location near you.
The Kids First Initiative (KFI) brought excitement and innovation to Walt Whitman Elementary in Pontiac during National Reading Month with a special visit from STEAM Man, the dynamic ambassador for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics education. This engaging character captivated students while demonstrating how learning can be both educational and exciting.
During the visit, KFI debuted their new Flip Book, which was met with overwhelming enthusiasm from the children. STEAM Man delivered an interactive experience complete with science sight words, snacks, and two fascinating science demonstrations that brought STEAM concepts to life. Each student received special stickers and a take-home STEAM gift, extending the learning experience beyond the classroom.
This initiative, generously sponsored by General Motors, represents KFI’s innovative approach to literacy – using technology to make reading engaging and fun while simultaneously introducing children to STEAM concepts. By combining reading with hands-on activities, KFI is helping students make meaningful connections across different subject areas.
There is still time, if you would like STEAM Man to visit your students!
