AMBER LOVE 13-JUNE-2013 Not too long, I had a lovely interview with LELA GWENN over a shitastic Skype connection where she talked about her bondage projeKt on VODKA O’CLOCK podcast. I’m someone who barely knows what a safe word is or why people explore their sexuality this way. For that reason, I am eternally gratefully Twitter brought Lela into my life so that I have someone gracious and honest who will answer my questions about the BDSM subculture.
One of the reasons I find the subject interesting is because tons, I mean TONS of people have assumed I was into the kink scene based solely on the fact that I cosplay as Wonder Woman. There is certainly something to the Amazon Princess’ origins that were shown but not told by William Moulton Marston but it seems once people made a bondage/kink connection with Wonder Woman, they refused to see her in any other way. My defenses would skyrocket! From wanting to shout through the internet, “WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE ASSUMING I’M KINKY!” to far more calm replies if they were lucky, “Nope, sorry, not my thing, don’t ask me anymore about it.” It was after getting enough of such emails that I have spent time trying to educate myself and entertain myself through podcasts, documentaries, and novels. I’m currently in the middle of Christa Faust’s CONTROL FREAK when my Audible decided to crash and die. I will still say, I have no personal interest in the practice of bondage nor any element of BDSM but I’m relieved that I have a friend or two who are there for my naive inquiries.
Check out Lela’s website and blog. She’s always on Twitter announcing the evolution of her projects and book deadline anxiety. Without further adieu, here’s a picture from the Nerd Bondage ProjeKt exclusively posted here before anywhere else.
