Amber Love 02-APR-2012 One of the comic shop in NJ that you can visit on MAY 5TH, FREE COMIC BOOK DAY is Comic Fusion in Flemington on Main Street.
GUESTS: Comic Fusion is hosting two local artists: Chris Muller, an art teacher who has supported us for FCBD and Superhero Charity Weekend for years; and well known NJ inker Tom Schloendorn! I’ll be there as well for most of the day before running off to another event. I’ll gladly sketch badly for you and sign any copies you have of HOLYOAK or SHELTER that you’ve purchased online.
We’re looking for cosplayers!
Costumes: The shop likes to keep costumed guests family friendly and horror-free. For ideas on costumes, this year’s list of free comics are up at the official FCBD website. There are a lot of choices since there is an Avengers and Spider-Man books from Marvel and Superman family book with Green Lantern and Young Justice from DC. The indies include fun characters like Atomic Robo and Mega Man. If you can, let us know your costume at Facebook. Rumor has it DC’s femme fatale ROXY ROCKET is expected to appear at the store!
You can keep up with all the events at Comic Fusion through Facebook. There are weekly games of Magic the Gathering and Heroclix and other games. If you’re interested in hosting a game there, the management is open to your suggestions and help.
Customers are invited to have one free comic per person from the selection. The staff can help you pick kid safe comics if needed. Parking is around back of the store (please enter through the front door).
Useless fact: Did you know FCBD comics are not free to the retailers? It’s a minimal charge but it’s true, the comics are not free for the shops to stock.
