AMBER LOVE 08-MAR-2012 This year’s BLUES BASH will be held March 22-23 at the Lackland Center’s Sitnik Theatre in Hackettstown, NJ. The headliner, Johnny Winter and his band will be performing Saturday night only and tickets are almost sold out. We were able to score a pair of Friday night tickets to give away courtesy of Joe Hirsch Productions.
The lineup for Friday the 22nd:
* Slackjaw, a local band with more rock edge than southern blues compared to other artists for this weekend.
* Gary Wright performing his tribute to “Howlin’ Wolf†Chester Aurthur Burnett who was known for his electric Mississippi blues style similar to Muddy Waters and Hubert Sumlin.
* Lee Delray proves that even a New Yorker can be infused with the heart of the south; Early on he was highly influenced by Muddy Waters , Alvin Lee , Jimi Hendrix , Bo Diddley , Chuck Berry and especially Buddy Holly. Later influences included Albert king , BB King , Freddy King , Albert Collins.
The lineup for Saturday the 23rd:
* Stone Cold Fever and The Bad Hands
*Â Samantha Fish, this new generation’s Bonnie Raitt in the form of a 22-year-old girl from Kansas City that will blow your mind
* Headlining is the legendary Johnny Winter who has been part of several Grammy Award winning albums. His popularity soared in the late 70s when his dream came true and he performed with Muddy Waters. He was inducted into the Blues Foundation Hall of Fame in 1988.
