It should have been my godmother, Cynthia’s birthday on October 3rd. She was born in 1950. I don’t know what ended her life in April of 2020, but I have a damn good idea and would be shocked if it was anything other than the Virus.

On October 5, 2018, Comic Fusion’s family lost Stacy Korn to ALS. I feel like I’ve written a lot about Stacy and her generosity and determination co-creating Wonder Woman Day and Superhero Weekend, but some of you might not know. There’s a donation page at ALS Association dedicated to her.

October 7th is also the anniversary of the death of the one and only, Edgar Allan Poe.

On October 6 or 7th (probably the middle of the night), Matthew Shepard was brutally and savagely attacked for being gay. He was in a coma for days before dying.
